TableOS vs Petpooja

Restaurant software demos all look the same. What separates them is what happens in month three: how the pricing scales, whether your data is portable, and who you reach at 9pm on a Saturday.

Petpooja is one of India's largest restaurant POS platforms with a wide hardware and integration ecosystem. We are not publishing a feature table claiming what it does or does not do — that would be out of date quickly and it is not our place to describe someone else's product. Their site is the authority on it.

What TableOS does

Everything below is something you can switch on in an account today.

Built around the QR order, not bolted onto a POS

TableOS starts from the guest scanning a code at the table and works outward — kitchen display, billing, customer record, inventory. That ordering matters, because a QR menu added to a legacy POS behaves like an add-on and a QR-native system behaves like the main path.

No proprietary hardware

Any browser runs it. The kitchen display is a tablet or a spare monitor, the dashboard is a laptop, the guest uses their own phone. Nothing to lease and nothing to replace when it breaks.

One published price

₹999 per month. No per-terminal licensing, no setup fee, no annual contract.

Questions to ask both vendors

These decide the answer in month three, once the demo has worn off and the invoice has arrived twice.

  1. 01What does the price cover — per outlet, per terminal, or per user?
  2. 02Is there a setup fee, hardware purchase or annual contract?
  3. 03Can you export your menu, orders and customer list, and at what cost?
  4. 04Does the QR ordering flow require the guest to install anything?
  5. 05What happens during an internet outage?
  6. 06Who answers support on a Saturday night, and how fast?
  7. 07If you add a second outlet, what changes on the bill?
